Serving Chicagoland For Over 56 Years
P&G Crane embodies the essence of true American entrepreneurship. Founded in 1966 as P&G Engineering by Phil and Grace (the “P” and “G” in our name), the company began with the purchase of a used 7.5-ton crane to set steel on a friend's property. While en route from the job site, they encountered their first customer, who needed help lifting an HVAC unit. That serendipitous moment marked the beginning of P&G’s journey, as Grace often recalls, “it happened by accident.”
Over the next decade, P&G Engineering expanded its fleet by acquiring larger cranes to meet growing customer demands. As the company grew, so did their two sons, Phil Jr. and Jon. Fueled by their own entrepreneurial spirit, they joined the business and played a pivotal role in its expansion into two distinct branches: Steel Fabrication and Crane Rental.
Throughout the years, P&G Crane has contributed to numerous developments across the southwest suburbs and beyond. From setting HVAC units, boilers, and precast panels to lifting culverts, monuments, sculptures, and glass, there is no project too complex for us.
Today, Phil and Grace are enjoying their well-deserved retirement, while their legacy continues through their sons. Jon serves as President and CEO of the Crane division, and Phil Jr. leads the Steel Fabrication branch, ensuring that the family’s entrepreneurial spirit endures.
